Morgana is an impressive three-masted schooner, built in 1924, and a former cargo ship with plenty of comfort. The ship has a spacious saloon with cosy seating areas.
Sailing with Morgana means getting involved: hoisting and handling 435 m² of sail takes many hands. So you are welcome to actively join in. Prefer to take it easy? No problem — everyone does as much as they like, and in every group there are usually plenty of helping hands.

On deck
Morgana offers plenty of deck space and a comfortable cockpit seating area. From the cockpit in front of the wheelhouse you always have wide-open views. Of course, you are also very welcome to visit the skipper in the wheelhouse. Morgana is a wide ship. That width provides not only lots of space but also excellent stability. So you do not have to worry too much about seasickness. Thanks to the high bulwark (closed railing), the ship is safe for small children.

Interior
In the middle of the ship you will find the large saloon with cosy seating areas. The saloon is high and has an English-style feel. In one of the corners there is a snug little bar. The saloon connects to the well-equipped galley. The wheelhouse is located on deck. Outside sailing hours the wheelhouse is private for the skipper, but while under way you can sit here — sheltered from the wind — and experience the sailing up close.

Cabins
The cabins are located at the front and the rear of the ship. All cabins have central heating and running water. The beds are fully made up, including duvets — so you do not need to bring a sleeping bag. In total, the ship has eleven cabins: seven double cabins and four four-person cabins.

Bathrooms
Below deck you will also find the sanitary facilities. Morgana has three showers and three toilets.

De Hoop
Morgana was launched in 1924 as “De Hoop”. The ship sailed as a cargo vessel until 1991, after which it was used by a watersports association in Wemeldinge as a floating clubhouse. After a brief stopover, the ship came into the hands of Lex Tichelaar of Scheepsreparatie Friesland in the late 1990s, who converted her into the three-masted schooner Morgana on behalf of Jappie Strikwerda.
