Join a sailing trip on the Dutch Wadden Sea

A sailing trip is an organised sailing holiday where you book a cabin individually, together with your partner or with your family on a traditional Dutch sailing ship. You sail with a small group of guests and an experienced crew across the UNESCO Wadden Sea. No sailing experience is required.

Our trips take place entirely within the UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea, where the rhythm of the tides determines each day.

That depends on the type of trip.

A weekend is either A Night on the Wadden Sea including dry falling and spending the night on a sandbank, or a sailing weekend to a Wadden island such as Vlieland or Terschelling.

During longer trips of 5 or 6 days, we visit multiple islands and — conditions permitting — spend at least one night dry fallen on the seabed.

Every trip combines active sailing with tranquillity, nature and the space to truly disconnect.

All sailing trips depart from Harlingen, a historic port town in the north of the Netherlands, directly on the UNESCO Wadden Sea.

No. Everyone is welcome. You can help hoist the sails and steer the ship if you like, but simply relaxing and enjoying the peace is perfectly fine too.

Full board is included during our sailing trips. Fresh meals are prepared daily on board. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided, and your bed will be fully made upon arrival.

Drinks are available on board and charged based on consumption. You can also view the options for drinks on board.

Yes. Many trips include dry falling. We sail onto a sandbank at high tide and walk across the seabed at low tide. It is a truly unique experience in the UNESCO Wadden Sea.

Yes. On weekend trips you choose either an island visit or a night in the middle of the Wadden Sea.

During longer trips, we often visit multiple islands, depending on wind and tides.

Sailing with us is about balance. You can be active whenever you like, but the journey is also about tranquillity, nature and escaping daily life. The rhythm of the tides naturally slows your days down.

We deliberately sail with smaller groups compared to private charters.

In practice this usually means:
– on the Lauwerszee approximately 14 to 16 guests
– on the Morgana approximately 20 to 24 guests

Numbers may vary slightly per trip, but the atmosphere always remains personal and relaxed.

You can choose what suits you best:
– A bed in a shared cabin
– A private double cabin for yourself
– A double cabin together with your partner or friend
– A four-person cabin with family or friends
– Or a combination of cabins if you are travelling with a larger group

Most trips take place between April and October.

Spring is fresh and bright, summer offers long evenings and warm days, and autumn is known for its tranquillity and dramatic skies above the Wadden Sea.

The administrative handling of our sailing trips is organised through Holland Sail. They take care of reservations and invoicing. The trip itself takes place on board our ships on the UNESCO Wadden Sea.
